Location
The Forest District Bytnica is located within the Lubuskie Province, in the Krosno District (Poviat). It belongs to Regional Directorate of the State Forests (RDLP) in Zielona Góra. With its range, the Forest District covers the area of the following communes: Bytnica, Krosno Odrzańskie, Skąpe, Łagów and Czerwieńsk. The overall area of the Forest District equals 19.128 ha, including forest grounds 17.844 ha.
History
The Forest District Bytnica within its current borders was established on January 1st, 1996 on the basis of the Order No.268 of the Minister for the Environment . It covers the area of the former Forest Districts Grabina, Gryżyna and Złoty Potok. It was mainly created from the grounds belonging to the state forests and to a few private forests. There are still many remains after forestry from the past, namely beautiful allies with monumental English oaks.

Projects and funds
"Promotion of Crossborder Cooperation of Bytnica Forest District and Landratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt" was a project carried out by Bytnica Forest District in 2014. The partner from Saxony was Landratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt (District Forest Office) located in Kametz.
Prizes and awards
Polish Ecology Leader 2011 is a competition organised by the Ministry of Environment, promoting positive models and methods of achieving business success through activities supporting the environment.
Cooperation
Bytnica Forest District co-operates with Landratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt (County Forest Office) from Saxony (Germany). The headquarter of the project partner Landsratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt is located in Kamenz. Further information can be found here.
